BENCO TRADING is a Sierra Leonean company that was originally established in 1994 as a retail outlet of general merchandise ranging from assorted building materials to foods to FMCG’s. In 2002, it was incorporated as a limited liability company.
The company revised its operations away from retail and was a pioneering force in the importation and wholesale distribution of what are now its staple product offerings namely: high grade cement and steel rebars, among others.
With our warehouses situated adjacent to the QEII port, Benco has a logistics advantage vis-a-vis clearing and transport of goods from the port, especially break bulk cargo and large volumes of containerized goods.
Over the years our operations have expanded to cover many products categories:
Building materials: Cement, Rebars, Roofing Sheets, and Binding Wire
Foods: Rice, Sugar, and Salt
Chemicals: Caustic Soda, Calcium Carbide
Bitumen: we supply some of the leading road contractors
LPG/Cooking Gas: This unit was spun off to form Afrigas Ltd, Sierra Leone’s first exclusive LPG bottling and distribution company.
Soaps & Detergents: Some imported and some manufactured locally via our affiliate Cosmeline Ltd.
